AntiContainer plugins disappearing

Reported by: starringer Owned by: poke
Priority: major Milestone:
Component: AntiContainer Version: ---

Operating System: All

I don't know if this is because of something I'm doing, but I've been trying to make various plugins for myself for some time, but it seems between one time and another, my plugins just vanish from the list.

The .json files still exist in the folder, but even if I try to install them again, they just don't show up.

This is making it very frustrating when I'm trying to figure out how things work with particular websites by trial and error and my work suddenly is inaccessible.

I need more information than this to see what's happening there.

  • First of all, the versions of dTa! and AntiContainer in use.
  • Where are the built-in plugins gone?
  • Output from the Error Console

Can you also try to move all plugins somewhere else and move then back one-by-one to see if a particular plugin causes this.

After you add plugins, do you modified the source code? I had the same problem and the reason was the new code was wrong

What you are seeing is usually an effect of some invalid plugin. That means either the JSON syntax is invalid, or AntiContainer's internal check routines fail. You can find out about such errors after trying to install the plugin by checking Firefox' error console (CTRL+Shift+J), or by checking the dTa! diagnostic log (if enabled).

I'll be try to think of a more user-friendly way to ensure that plugins are valid and that an actually visible error feedback is shown on fail.
